Deus ex Machina: A Digital Bloodletting

Nosferatu

We all have a need to feed.

Sometimes we nibble…

Other times we feast

Tonight, I was gluttonous.

Cerberus on point

Good night, tonight.

It’s Lynn Strait, Evan Williams and I.

We are dining in memories, and our bellies are full.

Una

Wood and steel never disappoint me.

And, they are both as cold as the grave waiting us.

Dinner is served

The wind is blowing red curls around my ears.

This is the time of year, when my colors change with the season.

My flesh sighs a longing relief from the cool winds.

I close my eyes, and pretend I can see the notes drifting down the street.  Flowing from the soundhole, as I finger-pick a sweet lullaby.

Floating into the neighbors window, they smile.

The soup tastes better now.

Engage

Off I go, to find that place.  A spot in between my conscious and the reflection.  A spot where my eyes gaze out over the landscape, but I feel me looking back toward my inner eye.

I’m not me.
I’m not here.
I’m not there.

My body is in motion the whole time, but I feel like I’m standing still.
My muscles will eventually tire, but I don’t notice.
The music blazing in my ears, will be a muffled cadence.

I will think of everything,
and nothing at all.

Through will, my steps will stay light.

I’ll float the whole time.

These things are good.
